Star of David

While still in its infancy, the jewish religion was still adopting Pagan symbols to help give it some identity, as recently as only about 100 years ago. It picked up its latest official emblem, the Hexagram from India, recognising that its significance was entirely sexual, so much so, that it was the perpetual sexual union between man and woman; specifically between Kali (the downward pointed triangle) and Shiva (the upward pointed triangle).

So while this symbol is referred to as the Star of David, Magen David or Solomon's Seal, it was a symbol in another country, representing something quite different.
